I’m a writer and editor working out of Ottawa, Ontario. I took my first job as a copywriter when I was going into my third year of university, and have been in and out of communications ever since. I’ve also had an extended stint as an XML editor, seeing publications from the other side. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Ottawa in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts – Specialization in English.

Over the course of my career so far, I have worked in a broad variety of sectors, including nonprofit, environmental, public health, private security, medical publishing, university administration, and government. I specialize in narrative writing, web copy, articles and press releases, editing for style, grammar, and content, and adapting scientific, technical, or academic text into plain language. I like fast-paced environments and short deadlines. I’m a flexible, adaptive writer, and I learn new styles and formats quickly: show me an example of what you want done, and I can recreate it for you—even if I’ve never done it before.

In my spare time, I like to write fiction and poetry, read fantasy novels, cook new recipes, organize events, and play collaborative roleplaying games. My assorted interests include Irish mythology, Romantic and Modernist poetry, the history of food, Chinese dramas, farmers’ markets, weird horror, upbeat science fiction films, and devastating science fiction books. I collect books, dice, and—apparently—looseleaf tea, and stories are the most important thing in the world to me. If you’d like to get in touch, you can reach me here!
